About Fly Tyers Dungeon

FTD has been around since 1999 on the internet with over 25 years in the fly tying materials manufacturing business and over 35 years in the fly fishing business.

The goal at FTD is very simple. Produce high quality tying materials at a great price to our customers. That's it. With prices rising constantly, it's harder to buy quality materials and when a $20 bill used to buy a nice selection, today it might get you a box of 100 hooks, a package of flash type material and maybe a spool of thread or two.

The nuts and bolts of FTD is the ability to offer quality fly tying materials (and some fly fishing products) at extremely low prices, well below wholesale and even below distributor prices.

Since we are a manufacturer, we control the entire process from raw product to finished goods AND the price. We do not "match" prices with similar products on the market. We have our own pricing system and stick to it as close as possible.

Since we make most everything from scratch and from A to Z, it may take us a little longer to get orders out if FTD is out of stock of materials relevant to your order. We don't sit back and order from one of the big suppliers waiting to get product in and just transferring packaged product from one hand to another and then to you. WE MAKE OUR MATERIALS in "The Dungeon"!!! We experiment as much as possible, researching, testing, re-resting, tying, dyeing etc. on each and every new product we offer.

It's difficult for youngsters to enjoy the art/craft of fly tying and FTD would like to keep prices as low as possible for the youngsters, beginners and experts alike. Where $20 can go a long way that's what you get at Fly Tyers Dungeon! 

Over the past 25 plus years in the fly fishing/tying business, we have developed friendships and know many people in the industry. FTD does not belittle or put down other companies to build us up. We build FTD up by building up our products not tearing apart others. We do have a system in place and only point out facts not degrading anyone, it's not our way. Many companies have copied some of our products, just fact and we take it as an honor with a smile on our faces. It means that we know what we are doing and other companies know as well.
