Streamers

Black Widow Leech
  • Thread - Flat Waxed Nylon or similar, color matches body.
  • Hook: 4x long Streamer #2 - #8
  • Bead: Gold, Black, Copper
  • Tail: Black Widow Flash - I prefer to put the Black Widow in Hot Water for a few seconds. This crinkles the flash and nylon fibers for a nice look. I prefer the crinkle over the straight.
  • Body: Rub-A-Dub Generation X dubbing in Olive, Black, Brown, Yellow colors. Once I dub the body, I use a piece of Velcro about 2" long and pull on the sides, top and bottom to bring out the hair and legs.

A great substitute for a woolly bugger. Has a lot of motion and very fast to tie. I have done very well this pattern in lakes and rivers. It is extremely durable and long lasting. MS

Black Widow PLUS
  • Thread - Flat Waxed Nylon or similar, color matches body.
  • Hook: 4x long Streamer #2 - #8
  • Bead: Gold, Black, Copper
  • Tail: Black Widow Flash - I prefer to put the Black Widow in Hot Water for a few seconds. This crinkles the flash and nylon fibers for a nice look. I prefer the crinkle over the straight.
  • Body: Peacock Plus dubbing - Peacock, Red, Olive, Chartreuse, Green, Black etc. A loose dub and go over body back and forth with thread and more dubbing. Once the fly is completed, I take a piece of velcro and pull it up and down on each side of the fly. I do NOT velcro the top and bottom...sides only. This pulls the Peacock PLUS legs and dubbing into a great Bushy appearance!

A great substitute for a woolly bugger. Has a lot of motion, high sheen and multiple colors throughout the fly with the themed color showing through. This works great! Fast and easy to tie.
